My Course Diary
I have been on a journey of learning all my life. Sometimes you go to a course to learning a skill like sewing and you end up leaning so much more. This is my journey, I don’t want to tell u what I have learnt as you will learn it too as you go on your own journey. I want to hold your hand and let you be whatever you want to be because you can.
My journey looks like this:
I start as the start when they are so many thorns in my way. Sometimes its myself, Sometimes it’s my life or the motivation to change my situation. I look around and want to change but I do not know how so I start on my journey of learning something new. Culture, counselling or just a course to feel better.
Then is see what I need to get to where I want to be. This is my mountain that I need to climb the path is straight but steep. I sometimes fall, stumble and lose hope. Then I look up to the sky and see what I want to do. I feel nervous but happy and determined as I deserve to reach the top because this mountain of mine is mine and no one else’s. I need to reach my goal for myself. I get help from people but that’s ok, that’s why god put them there for.
I somehow reach the top and the look down I feel good looking back. I always am amazed to find the most difficult part was the part that I learnt the most or change for the better. I begin to understand that these trials make me grow and become a better me. Wisdom is what I gain and understanding of myself and others.
I am in a good place and feel happy and relaxed. I have achieved what I wanted to sometimes I do not realise it but it changes me. I have new knowledge in which to view the world myself and others.
Then something changes and I need to search for a new answer or change a new thing and my journey starts again…………….
SO COME AND OPEN IT ….
The first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: Decide what you want.
I am so clever that sometimes I don’t understand a single word of what I am saying.
Apologizing doesn’t always mean you are wrong. Sometimes its because you value the relationship & love the person more than your pride.
If you never thank Allah after every smile…. Then, why do you blame him for every tear…?
A friend is someone who thinks you’re a good egg even though you’re slightly cracked.
Things turn out best for the people who make the best out of the way things turn out.
Being nice to someone you dislike doesn’t mean you’re a fake. It means you are mature enough to tolerate your dislike towards them.
The word “shams” (sun) is feminine, and “qamar” (moon) is masculine. The sun burns itself out to give light and life to everything around, and the moon is muneer, meaning it reflects the light. Within itself it has no light; it radiates the brilliance of the sun. So when we shine as men, the implication is that we are reflecting the glorious light of our women. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’aala be pleased with them.
Silence and smile are two powerful tools.
Smile is the way to solve many problems.
And Silence is the way to avoid many problems. Now I need to put this into practice
Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
Every success makes you grow strong, because it teaches you what to do. But every failure makes you stronger because it teaches you what not to do.
You can’t change how people think of you. But they can’t change the fact that you really don’t care what they think!
The only person who will never lie to you is your reflection. Be true to yourself
Three things I love but the people hate: Povery, illness and death. I love poverty out of humility to my Lord, and death out of fondness (of meeting) my Lord, and illness as expiation for my sin.
A man came to Aishah [May Allaah be pleased with her] and asked: “When will I know that I am pious?” She said: “When you realise that you are a sinner”. He said: “And when will I realise I am a sinner?” She replied: “When you think you are pious”.
‘No amount of guilt can change the past, and no amount of worrying can change the future. Go easy on yourself, for the outcome of all affairs is determined by Allah’s decree. If something is meant to go elsewhere, it will never come your way, but if it is yours by destiny, from you it cannot flee.’
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “One of you sees a small speck of dirt in the eye of his brother, but fails to see the large piece of dirt in his own eye.”(at-Targhib wat-Tarhib 3/236)
Every person is observant to the flaws of others and blind to his own flaws.
This book has no back cover as my journey of learning will never end. Just as my soul will be reborn and a new journey of learning will begin >>>>>>
… making this book has been such a interesting journey !!!
As we went to the library trip I was inspired by all the book covers. I saw a pattern that I remember learning at the age of 12 and it stayed with me. I remember spending hours and hours developing this one pattern that is now the centre of the book ! (The one with the green leaf). I love the symbol of the leaf as it dies in Autumn and is reborn with spring ! It always gives joy to the person that sees it. In autumn as it flies off the tree and the world looks so bare we miss the beauty of the humble leaf.
I loved the black feel of the velvet and use it as my background. I love the small pattern of the leaf. And the dark background is the symbol of the darkness we have when we cannot understand ourselves and others.
I wanted to share with you my metaphor for learning as this is useful because you can apply it to anything as it talks about how I learn and not what I learn.
I wanted to add quotes that make me laugh and inspire me, and show the mixed emotions that we go through in our lives. Reflection, sadness, happiness ect ……
My book was completed I love it !!! Then I realised that they were 2 blank pages. I wanted to include a report from another course that we did. As I feel this was the beginning of my self development.
Then I wanted to share how this book was developed.
My future plans are really a direct result of what I have being learning. I want to become a tutor so I can have an opportunity to help others developed as my tutors have helped me.
